Bible Verses For Every Need

When you’re having an issue, where do you turn? Most of us will first consult with friends or family members for solutions or advice. Those that are ‘spiritual’ will finally approach God in prayer. Yes, we are human, and God has placed others in our life so that we can communicate with them. For the Bible states: “Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.” (Pro 11:14). We must surround ourselves with Spirit-filled believers and seek their counsel as needed. However, the Word of God is a speaking book, and God is also a speaking God. It says in James 1:5-8 says that, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”
I can provide you with several testimonies in which the Word of God freed me from shame, disgrace, failure, broken heart, despair, melancholy, and grief. We all go through difficult moments since we live in a damaged world. For the Lord Himself says “Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” (Jn 16:33; NLT). Because Jesus cannot lie, every committed Christian should prepare for difficulties because they will undoubtedly arise. When faced with adversity, the average Christian begins to question God. They wish to live a problem-free existence. The abundant life that Jesus promised is not without problems. Abundant life entails living your life as God intended. You can have that life if you accept Jesus as your Lord over everything in your life. A person with a weak foundation will either avoid difficulties, look for a quick fix, complain, or find a shortcut.
I know a woman who underwent bariatric surgery to treat obesity. She didn’t want to exercise or manage her diet because those things would take a long time; she wanted a shortcut. She did it, then regretted it. This is how most Christians act. Instead of devoting time to reading the Scriptures, they will spend it on something other than the Bible. When people have problems, they expect a powerful man of God (or lady of God) to perform a miracle to solve them. Many Christians today pay cash for solutions, which is why many so-called prophets feed off the incomes of vulnerable Christians. I believe in miracles, and God is a Miracle-Working God; but, we were made to rely on God’s Word. It is stated that man should live not by bread alone, but by every word that comes from God’s mouth. (Deut 8:3, Matt 4:4). You are what you consume. If this is true in the natural, do you believe it is also true spiritually? Millions of Christians now spend so much time on television, video games, and social media, yet we wonder why we don’t witness miracles. If we wish to recognise God’s hand in our lives, we must stay close to the Scriptures.
“Therefore, whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:  and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand:  and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.” (Matt 7:24-26). The summary of this parable is that storms of life will COME to everyone. Whether you stand or fall is determined by how your house was built. You may not realise it, but you build every day you live. Which structure are you constructing? Where have you arrived? This life is not stable; anything can happen at any time, and you should not waste it. You were made for a purpose, and that is what God expects from each of us.
It is not too late to turn your life around. You have probably learnt numerous things in your life that are opposed to God’s word. If you surrender to Jesus, He will uproot every tree that He has not planted in your life. God removes things that prevent people from progressing, such as bad habits or mindsets. To help people grow, God prunes them so that they might mature in their relationship with Him and produce greater fruit. To remove weeds, God prunes people to remove the weeds of pride and sin, which can crowd out and take nutrients from fertile branches. God prunes people so that they might gain discipline and self-control. How can humans react to God’s pruning? People can get closer to Jesus and spend time with him. People can listen to Jesus, obey Him, and believe that He will bring fresh things and growth back.
If the foundation is destroyed, what can the righteous do? (Ps 11:3). Start your new life today. Allow God’s Word to penetrate your innermost being. Do this regularly, and you will be astounded at how far God has carried you, and you will be regarded as a wise person.
