Oh Lord, Draw Me Closer to You

50 Prayers for Intimacy With God — With Bible Verses

Section 1: Longing & Invitation

8. Father, in Your presence is fullness of joy. I hunger for that joy — not as a visitor, but as a beloved child. Abide in me, and let me abide in You always.

“In your presence there is fullness of joy, at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” — Psalm 16:11

9. Lord, quiet my soul before You. Help me to be still and know that You are God. Silence the noise within and without, that I may hear Your voice and feel Your embrace.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10

10. Holy Spirit, help my weakness. Intercede within me and draw me into the deep things of God. Reveal the Father’s heart to me in ways I have never known.

“The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.” — Romans 8:16

13. Search me, O God, and know my heart today. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Purge whatever blocks my view of You.

15. I come with a sincere heart, in full assurance of faith, washed clean by Your blood. Receive me, Lord — draw me in, and let me stand in Your holy presence.

Section 3: Abiding & Listening

21. Remain in me, Lord, as I seek to remain in You. Let our connection be constant — a living, breathing union. Apart from You I can do nothing; keep me attached to the Vine.

“Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine.” — John 15:4

22. Speak, Lord, for Your servant is listening. Quiet the voices of the world so I may hear Your whisper. I long to know Your will, Your heart, Your love — speak to me.

“Speak, for your servant is listening.” — 1 Samuel 3:10

23. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. Lord, train my ear to distinguish Your voice from all others. Let me know You so well that I cannot be led astray.

“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” — John 10:27

24. Lord, let Your Word be a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. As I read it, let me encounter You — not just information, but transformation. Reveal Yourself through every page.

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” — Psalm 119:105

25. I open the door of my heart to You, Lord. Come in and dine with me. Let our fellowship be intimate and unbroken. I welcome You into every room of my life.

28. Lord, let me abide in Your love. Obedience is the doorway to deeper communion. Help me keep Your commands not out of duty, but out of delight in who You are.

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.” — John 15:9

29. Holy Spirit, tune my heart to Your frequency. Help me recognise Your promptings, Your comfort, Your correction. Let me not grieve You but yield to Your leading always.

“And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.” — Ephesians 4:30

30. Lord, let me seek You in secret — in the quiet place where it is just You and me. Reward my seeking with Your presence; let our private times be the most precious of all.

“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” — Matthew 6:6

Section 4: Deep Communion & Love

33. Let me know You — truly know You — the power of Your resurrection and the fellowship of Your sufferings. Whatever the cost, I want to walk so close that my life mirrors Yours.

“I want to know Christ — yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings.” — Philippians 3:10

34. Lord, let our love be mutual and deep. You have pursued me; now I pursue You. Let my heart say always: “I found the One my soul loves.” Keep me in Your embrace.

“For we live by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7

39. Lord, satisfy me early with Your unfailing love. Let me wake each day longing for You. Be the first thought in my mind and the last before I sleep.

“Satisfy us in the morning with Your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.” — Psalm 90:14

40. My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me. When I stumble, You hold me. When I fear, You sustain me. I will not let go — not until You bless me.

“My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me.” — Psalm 63:8

Section 5: Daily Walk & Everlasting Union

“Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.” — Genesis 5:24

42. Lord, let me not just know about You — let me know You. Let intimacy be my highest pursuit. Everything else is secondary to being loved by You and loving You in return.

44. Lord, let my life be a living sacrifice — not a burden, but an offering of love. Every part of me belongs to You. Use me, love me, live through me.

“Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God — this is your true and proper worship.” — Romans 12:1

45. When I pass through deep waters, You are with me. Let me feel Your presence most keenly in the dark valleys. Draw me close so I see nothing but You.

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.” — Isaiah 43:2

46. Lord, let me hunger and thirst for righteousness — for You. Feed me with the Bread of Life; satisfy my soul with Your living water. I am empty without You.

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” — Matthew 5:6

47. Keep me close, Lord, until the day I see You face to face. Let the longing of my heart be fully satisfied in Your presence. Let me dwell with You forever.

“And so we will be with the Lord forever.” — 1 Thessalonians 4:17

48. Let my heart echo always: “Abide with me, for it is toward evening.” Every moment of every day, I need You. Never leave me; never let me leave You.
