“In His humiliation, His justice was taken away, and who will declare His generation? For His life is taken from the earth.” (Acts 8: 33). When Adam sinned, he left in his trial generations of sinners. The murder of Abel by Cain was a grim reminder to Adam of what he had brought unto his descendants through disobedience to the Word of God. Therefore, it is not surprising that sin has led them to perpetrate all kinds of wicked acts on earth. When Jesus was on earth, He did not sin, and no deceit was found in His mouth (1 Pet 2: 22), yet several plots were hatched to murder Him. The Jewish leaders finally managed to persuade the crowd seeing Jesus arrested, to get Pontius Pilate to give Him up for crucifixion (Matt 27: 21 – 26 ), even when he had decided to release Him (Acts 3: 13). Who can describe this generation? But they are not worse than other generations, for sin has exalted its evil toll on them all. Generations are crooked. Hence the warning of Peter for people to save themselves from their wicked generation (Acts 2:40). They are to do so by repenting of their sins and being baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of their sins and receiving the Holy Spirit. Our generation seems to have surpassed others in their various acts of ungodliness. They seem to have mastered the art of evil. However, the story has been the same since the fall of Adam. All have sinned and come short of God’s glory (Rom 3: 23), so none does good, not even on (Rom 3: 12). Let everyone heed the admonition of the Holy Spirit given through Peter and run to Christ Jesus and save themselves from this crooked generation.
