Then Samson called to the Lord, saying, “O Lord God, remember me, I pray! Strengthen me, I pray, just this once, O God, that I may with one blow take vengeance on the Philistines for my two eyes! (Jg 16:28). God showed Samson mercies, when he prayed to Him. The covenant mercies brought him, repentance, restoration and reward.
The mistakes we make sometimes have great consequences on us. It allows our enemies to celebrate our downfall and make us feel like complete failures. But in all these, there is the opportunity for God to remember you just like He remembered Samson. He prayed and asked God to remember Him. In other words, “Look upon me and the past and save me.” For us, as believers, whenever our backs are against the wall, that is the right time to ask God to remember you. Whenever you are tired and overwhelmed, pray and say, “Oh LORD, Remember me.”
It doesn’t matter what mistakes you have made; the God of Covenant has not forgotten you. God, remembering you causes Him to refer to the relationship you have with Him and something you have done for Him. God does not forget your fasting, prayers, service, sacrifices and other things you do to touch Him. When the Lord remembers you, He selects you for a testimony or breakthrough. When He remembers you, men also remember you. I pray that wherever you have been forgotten, may God mention your name for remembrance in the name of Jesus.
