On many occasions, God leaves people to have their own way though it does not please Him. When they stubbornly insist on doing what pleases them, God allows them to have what they want, and with it, the desirable consequences will destroy them. “And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart and multiply My signs and My wonders in the land of Egypt. But Pharaoh will not heed you, so that I may lay My hand on Egypt and bring My armies and My people, the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great judgments. And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord when I stretch out My hand on Egypt and bring out the children of Israel from among them.” (Exo 7:3-5).
The Lord promised to increase His miracles in proportion to the hardening of Pharaoh’s heart. That meant when Pharaoh took his wickedness a notch higher; God would take His miracles many notches higher. God does the same for us. When the enemy revolts against us, God doesn’t sit back and do nothing. He comes to our rescue and responds with a more extraordinary demonstration of His might and power. When we are in the centre of His will, He escalates His supernatural interventions to enable us to surmount the challenges we face.
