“Therefore, they set taskmasters over them to afflict them with their burdens (Exo 1: 11). The background to the above scripture is that Pharaoh spearheaded a conspiracy or plan to enslave and afflict the Israelites —the people of God. Affliction is a state of pain, suffering, distress or agony usually imposed by men. It is legislated in the spirit and manifests by enforcement through the hands of men. What you are going through may result from evil legislation against your life. Perhaps in your life, you can see a strange handwriting controlling events around you. Your life is at a standstill; your health has been eaten away by disease, and your marriage, education and finances are in shambles. Note that in the realms of the spirit, there are always two handwritings working in our lives: God’s handwriting and the devil’s handwriting. Which of these two speaks for you? Here is the good news. “Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross” (Col 2:14). Christ has already won the victory for us. It is now your responsibility to stand against the handwriting of the devil and pray the handwriting of God into manifestation. Get ready; something new is about to happen!
