Inspiration 76

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ (2 Cor 10: 4-5). Every Christian is engaged in warfare. We fight to enforce the victory that Christ won for us through His death and resurrection. Our enemy’s chief strategy is to make us think that what Christ did for us is not enough. The evil one wants us to doubt the power of the Holy Spirit Who lives in us. He is a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour; don’t believe in the devil’s lie. There are a few lessons from this passage.

  1. The mind is the battlefield.

The enemy of our souls is the father of lies.  He seeks to magnify his power beyond what it is. Every thought that magnifies Satan’s power so that you live in fear is not God. The truth is that Christ disarmed and defeated the enemy on the cross and through the resurrection. Because of that, our minds should always rest on the victory of the Lord.

  1.  Capture down thoughts.

Just as enemy soldiers are captured in war, rebellious thoughts must be taken captive and made to submit to Christ. The spiritual weapons given to us are designed for the express purpose of taking every thought captive and making them obedient to Christ. Keeping our minds completely stayed upon the Lord gives us victory in spiritual warfare.

  1. Exalt Christ in your mind.

Let Him rule over every imagination and idea in your mind. Trust Him for victory in every battle you are engaged in and walk in His power. Rest fully assured that no matter how hard it gets, you are a winner in Christ.
