At each stage in our lives, we must find ourselves where God wants us to be, and it is in that place we become a watered garden. We see the abundance of His supply for our needs in that place. Don’t fight with anyone over what God has given them. In God’s plan for your life, rivers are flowing to nourish you, and joy is abundant.
“Now a river went out of Eden to water the garden, and from there it parted and became four heads. The name of the first is Pishon; it is the one which skirts the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold.” (Gen 2:10-11). Of all the places on God’s created earth, He chose a particular spot to place the man He had made. He located the right place for Adam. The passage shows us a picture of the site where God planted Adam, “a river watered the land, and there was gold there.”
Eden is associated with water
There were rivers for nourishment. Eden was a place of life and sustenance. That land received natural watering; it was a watered garden. We see those blessed by God portrayed as trees watered by rivers when we read the Bible. “For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; but its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit.” (Jer 17:8). We see this throughout the Scriptures. God did not make that provision only for Adam; He provided a watered garden for all His children.
Eden is associated with gold
“The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine”, says the Lord. (Hag 2:8). Gold is usually used in the Bible as a material measure of God’s blessings. We see that in the lives of Abraham, David and Solomon. The wise men even blessed our Lord Jesus with gold. Eden is associated with gold. What does all of that mean to us? When we fully allow the Lord to place us where He wants us to be, our lives become a watered garden, and God gives us the resources we need. We often see people blessed in their place, and we seek to be like them. Sometimes we force to place ourselves where we are not established. The reality is that where God sets you is not the same place where He sets another. The placement of the Lord is not about positions and titles. It is about what He wants to do with our lives.
