“Oh come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.” (Ps 95:1-2). Thanksgiving is an expression of gratitude for all that God has done. The Lord walks with us daily, holding our hands as we walk on life’s paths . When we stumble, He picks up, and when we lose our way, He guides us back to the right path. When we are attacked and the enemy seeks to destroy us, He is a shield and a defence for us. There is a lot to be thankful for
· “Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.”
Shouting involves making noise. The Lord wants us to make noise about what He has done for us. The phrase “Rock of Salvation” describes God as the One who provides security and delivers His people. Celebrating God’s deliverance and protection is not done in silence. Each time we have the opportunity to announce what God has done for us, we must shout it out loud. God is the One who delivers us from the trap of the enemy; He makes a way for us when we face impossibilities. We must sing songs of praises that tell of His deliverance.
· “Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving.”
We must be conscious of the presence of God around us. The Lord is with us wherever we go. Many times, we approach God with complaints rather than with gratitude. However, the Psalmist beckons believers to cultivate the right posture when we come before Him. In times of difficulty, it is easy to grumble than to be thankful, but we must choose to come before the Lord with a thankful heart.
