Inpsiration 89

In whose eyes a vile person is despised, but he honours those who fear the Lord; He who swears to his own hurt and does not change. (Ps 15:4). Learning to live with integrity and keeping your promises will show others that you can be trusted and will make you much happier. Integrity doesn’t mean you are perfect. It means that what people see is what people get. You are the real deal —because your actions match your words.

Proverbs 25:13 says, “Reliable friends who do what they say are like cool drinks in sweltering heat—refreshing!” (MSG). Even if you find out it will cost you more than you thought it would, you still keep your word. If you want to be happy, become a person people can trust. Paul used Timothy as an example of someone reliable, consistent, and dependable. “But you know of Timothy’s tested worth and his proven character, that he has served with me to advance the gospel like a son serving with his father.” (Phil 2:22; AMP). In all circumstances, Paul had seen Timothy in action and considered him genuine and trustworthy. Timothy had proved to Paul that he was someone who could be counted on. Do people know what kind of person you are?  Have you been established trustworthy like Timothy?

Anytime you go to a bank for a loan, they will do a credit check. They want to know if you are worthy of being trusted with credit. Do you pay your bills on time?  Do you have a track record of keeping your word, and can you be depended on to pay the money back? Are you creditable? Everyone around you is doing a credit check on your life, every moment of your life. They want to know if you are who you say you are. Are you showing your true colours? Can you be trusted? When you prove that you are a trustworthy person, you will be a happier person.People will know you are reliable, and as a result, your relationships will be stronger. How do you develop a reputation of trustworthiness?

Scriptures.

A talebearer reveals secrets, but he who is of a faithful spirit conceals a matter. (Pro 11:13).

He who walks with integrity walks securely, but he who perverts his ways will become known. (Pro 10:9).

In all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility, sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you. (Ti 2:7-8).
