Part 2
Do not despise small beginnings. Do not cast yourself down because things are not going as well as planned. God rejoices in humble beginnings. This is because He knows that once He has started great work in you, He shall be faithful to complete it. People will laugh at you today. They may make all sorts of discouraging statements about you. But have the confidence that God is faithful and that which He starts, He completes. I bless you today. Your end shall be ten times greater than your beginning. I pray that in struggles and difficulties may you take comfort in the fact that God is with you, and He shall bring you to an expected end in Jesus’ name.
“Who [with reason] despises the day of small things (beginnings)? For these seven [eyes] shall rejoice when they see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel. They are the eyes of the Lord which roam throughout the earth.” (Zech 4:10; AMP). An angel of the Lord appeared to him how God would divert the shame, disgrace and reproach that was about to befall Zerubbabel. Around this time, Zerubbabel was in the problematic state of trying to rebuild the temple of the Lord amidst hardship, opposition and struggles. The encouraging Word of God to Zerubbabel was that although his beginning was small and he was faced with many challenges, in the end, he would see the glory of God through the finishing of the building.
Part B.
Do you know that admitting your hopelessness to God can be a statement of faith? Trusting God but feeling despair simultaneously is a statement of faith. David wrote, “I believed, therefore I spoke, “I am greatly afflicted.”” (Ps116:10). This sounds like a contradiction. I trust God, but I’m wiped out! David’s frankness reveals deep faith. First, he believed God; second, he believed God would listen to his prayer. Third, he believed God would let him say what he felt and still love him.
